“Non-coding RNA research is currently an extremely fast-moving and competitive field of research and I am excited to be part of it”
My fascination for the investigation of complex disorders began during my Master´s thesis. My research interests have taken me on a journey from the field of microbiology to the investigation of epigenetic changes occuring during acquired resistances to anti-EGFR targeted therapies, and now the comprehension of the involvement of non-coding RNAs in energy homeostasis.
Eager to explore the in vivo role of ncRNAs in homeostatic circuits regulating energy homeostasis in health and disease, I have decided to join Jan-Wilhelm´s group and the non-coding RNA focus at the Max Planck Institute of Neurological Research, which aims at defining novel sequence-specific anti-RNA therapeutics as an opportunity to combat obesity.
